On Saturday June 13, from 4 p.m., come and discover the construction site and behind the scenes of the Cimenterie project, with its concert hall.
Bringing the former lime kiln of the Ranteil cement factories back to life by transforming it into a place of culture is the challenge of the owner of the cement plant and his partners.
The enormous concrete building dominating the entrance to Albi from Castres is in the process of changing. In 2027, it will house rehearsal studios, a craft brewery, a violin making workshop, a recording studio, a bar-restaurant and above all a concert hall. Pollux will manage and program it.
The construction site has started and the Cimenterie collective offers to discover the progress and nature of the project on Saturday June 13 from 4 p.m. Until 6 p.m., the future occupants of the place will share anecdotes and stories around the site, its industrial past and its transformation, all at the same time. revealing the different activities that will bring this future hybrid space to life. The day will then continue with an evening of free open-air concerts offered by Pollux.
Several groups will perform on a temporary stage. Ultragama will oscillate between disco house and instrumental electro; Coucibass will offer a reggae atmosphere; Vox Lab Studio is a rock choir and students from the Tarn Conservatory of Music and Dance will also be there. A few months ago, an identical event attracted a lot of people, the collective’s objective being to fully immerse itself in the social fabric of the neighborhood. Everyone will be able to find something to eat on site. Entrance is free.
