The Escambis festival is starting again for an 11th edition which will once again bring Occitan culture to life in the region, between Saint-Céré and Bannes. Supported by the Aquà l’Ã’c association, with the support of numerous partners, this event highlights the language of Oc, music, theater, dance and, more broadly, a whole living heritage passed down from generation to generation.

After a first day organized in Saint-Céré, the festival will continue in Bannes, Sunday May 3, at the village hall, for an afternoon dedicated to theater, singing and traditional dances. From 2:30 p.m., the Petit Théâtre de Sousceyrac will offer bilingual plays, before a time devoted, at 4:15 p.m., to the 50th anniversary of the creation of the IEO du Lot, with an evocation of this anniversary and songs by Claudi Martà performed by Aquà l’Ã’c. Then, at 4:30 p.m., the public will be able to attend a demonstration of folk dances with Les Bourrélous de Cajarc.

This stopover in Bannes is intended to be both cultural and friendly. A refreshment bar will be available on site, as well as a stand selling Occitan books and cultural products. In terms of prices, entry is set at €10, €5 for members and those under 18; it will remain free for children under 12 years old.

Through this new edition, Escambis intends once again to make Occitan culture resonate as close as possible to the inhabitants, in a spirit of sharing, transmission and celebration.
