Alec will be France’s candidate for Junior Eurovision 2026

Alec représentera la France à l’Eurovision Junior 2026.

Junior Eurovision will not be held until October, but France 2 has already revealed this weekend the name of the candidate who will represent France in Malta. This is Alec, aged 12. This teenager was notably seen in a special children’s issue of Don’t forget the lyrics.

It’s during the broadcast The Fête de la musique à Orange broadcast Saturday evening on France 2 that the young musician was made official for the European competition reserved for 9-14 year olds. He notably performed on the piano and in song This world by Lou Deleuze – the title which crowned the Frenchwoman last year -, but also I’m still standing d’Elton John (Listen in the video below).

At the Théâtre antique d’Orange and in front of 7,000 spectators, Alec was accompanied for the occasion by Monroe, the French candidate for Eurovision this year, who finished 11th.

Last year, Alec also won “The Stars of Lake Geneva »a festival aimed at young French-speaking talents in Switzerland. He had also already passed a casting in Lyon for The Voice Kidswithout being held back, he who has been playing the piano since he was 5 and the guitar since the age of 7.

France already 4 times winner of the competition

Last year, let’s remember that it was France which won the competition thanks to the performance of Lou Deleuze, 11 years old, during an edition which took place in Tbilisi, Georgia.

The young performer and her song This Worldwritten by John Claes, Jonathan Thyssens and Linh, beat out candidates from Ukraine and Georgia in a competition watched on television and online by millions of people.

France, already winner in 2020 with Valentina, in 2022 with Lissandro and in 2023 with Zoé Clauzure, now holds the record for victories (4) with Georgia.
