Promoted to the Top 14 thanks to its title of French Pro D2 champion at the beginning of June, Vannes has just formalized the arrival of a major recruit for next season. The Argentine second line MatÃas Alemanno (99 caps with the Pumas) will wear the RCV jersey next season.
The RCV did not delay in continuing and finalizing its recruitment for the 2026-2027 season. It must be said that to exist within the elite of French rugby, it was better not to hang around and quickly take the measure of what that represented. SO, as announced in these columns two days after the success of the Vannes in the Pro D2 final against Provence Rugby, MatÃas Alemanno will settle down in Brittany this summer. A major recruit who will therefore support the Bretons in their quest to maintain next season. The Argentine second line even signed a two-season contract and is therefore committed until 2028.
I can’t wait to meet my teammates, get to work
The Argentinian international (99 caps) will therefore arrive from Gloucester, where he has been playing since 2020. At 34 years old, MatÃas Alemanno is coming off a full and satisfactory season of 24 matches for 19 starts. A very valuable experience and an important reinforcement for the Vannes pack which will have to face what is best in the Top 14. In a press release published this Tuesday by the RCV, the Argentinian assures: “II am very proud and impatient to join a great club like Rugby Club Vannes. I know how passionate and loyal the fans are, which makes this opportunity even more special. I can’t wait to meet my teammates, get to work and together take on the challenges that this return to the Top 14 represents.”
