It is one of the most anticipated cultural events in the Aix region. This weekend, the Flâneries d’Art Contemporain are celebrating their 20th edition. For the occasion, actress Andréa Ferréol opens the doors of private gardens normally closed to the public for XXL and free programming. Invited this morning on the Grand Réveil on Maritima Radio, she promises us a “joyful and eclectic” birthday.
For two decades, the Flâneries d’Art Contemporain have transformed old Aix into an open-air gallery. But for this 20th anniversary, the ambition is going up a notch.« All arts are represented »enthuses Andréa Ferréol at Laurent Coureau’s microphone. Painting, sculpture, literature, opera and even street art: the city of Roy René will vibrate for two days.
Â
Three secret gardens in the city center
The originality of the festival lies in its setting: three private gardens nestled in theCounty Townbehind the town hall and near the cathedral (rue Mérindol, rue des Étuves and rue des Guerriers).« These are not the gardens of the Mazarin district that we already know, it is the other side of Aix, more secret »specifies the organizer.
In these green settings, 16 exhibitors (ceramists, painters, jewelry designers) will meet the public. Among them, an unusual curiosity: a sculptor who works with…spider webs.
Â
Jean-François Zygel and David Foenkinos headliners
The festival hits hard with prestigious guests. The highlight of the show will take place onSaturday evening at 7:15 p.m. with an exceptional piano concert.« It’s the little icing on the cake.ÂJean-François Zygel offers us a free concert. He is truly a sweetheart, a virtuoso who knows how to share his passion »confie Andréa Ferréol.
Literature will also be in the spotlight with the presence of the famous writerDavid Foenkinosas well as a tribute reading for the 100th anniversary of the death of Claude Monet by the actorsSamuel LabartheandPierre Santini.
