LE FIGARO. – Lyhanna’s death caused shockwaves. Justice is singled out, but can political power absolve itself from responsibility?

GABRIEL ATTAL. – Of course not. The State has failed in this matter. The most important responsibility of the State is to protect the French, particularly the most vulnerable among them, children. What is unbearable about this tragedy is that this murder could have been avoided if justice had functioned correctly. Obviously, all those who have exercised responsibilities, and I am one of them, must question what has been done and what has not been done in recent years so that justice can accomplish its mission. In this case, someone will have to pay. The French have the right to know what happened. Because our children are sacred.
