Silent, light and designed for rapid missions, the Wolfstorm marks a new stage for the Ukrainian army. This locally designed electric motorcycle has just been officially approved for military use.
Ukraine has just officially approved an electric motorcycle for military use. The Ukrainian Defense Ministry announced the codification and approval of the Wolfstorm. Important point: this is a first for a vehicle originally designed for this use, and not a civilian model adapted to the front, like the Delfasts equipped with rocket launchers that we covered in 2022.
According to the ministry, motorcycles have become the most valuable vehicles on the front, just behind pick-ups. Their ability to operate in difficult-to-access areas makes them essential tools for reconnaissance, logistics and all types of rapid interventions.

105 kg, 8 kW and 100 km range
The Wolfstorm weighs 105 kg and receives an 8 kW central motor. A consistent choice for off-road use.
The motorcycle announces a maximum speed of 80 km/h and a range of 100 km, without specifying the on-board battery capacity. Its load capacity reaches 200 kg, enough to transport two soldiers and their equipment. A reverse gear is also integrated as standard, an asset for quick maneuvers.
Its other operational strong point lies in the batteries. The Wolfstorm has an interchangeable modular system, allowing batteries to be replaced in the field without specific tools. Fully recharging takes around four hours, which requires the logistics of spare batteries rather than reliance on fixed terminals.
Why are electric motorcycles of interest to the armed forces?
Since 2022, the Ukrainian army has been the one that has most experimented with electric two-wheelers in real combat conditions. ELEEK Atoms used by snipers, modified Delfasts, or even an electric bike dropped by drone to exfiltrate a wounded soldier: the feedback has multiplied.
With the Wolfstorm, this experimentation takes a more official form. The model was designed from the design stage to respond to specific military uses: reconnaissance, transport of mine clearance teams, movement of drone operators, evacuations or security patrols.
The advantages highlighted by the ministry are known: almost silent operation, reduced thermal signature, lower operating costs and reduced maintenance. So many qualities which also explain why the French army was testing LMX electric two-wheelers from 2024.
The Wolfstorm, however, has reached an important stage: that of official approval. A milestone that is still rare for a military electric two-wheeler, and which confirms the growing interest of armies in light, discreet vehicles adapted to new uses on the battlefield.
Note that in the opposing camp, Kalashnikov also launched into electric motorcycles in 2017, with a first model intended for the Moscow police. The electric two-wheel war also has its two fronts.
