After several months of collective work, students from the professional sectors of the Simone-Veil high school unveiled, on June 8, the fresco created on the A750 footbridge. An artistic and educational project carried out with the visual artist Majeon in partnership with the high school and supported by the Community of Communes Vallée de l’Hérault.
“You will leave this mark”, promises Antoine Roux, principal of the Simone Veil high school to the students who have come to contemplate the fruit of a long collective work. This June 8, after months of reflections, discussions and achievements, the time had finally come to inaugurate the fresco created on the footbridge on the A 750. A monumental work, launched at the start of the 2025 school year on the initiative of the CCVH, and produced by students from professional sectors as part of applied arts courses led by Chrystelle André, in close collaboration with the visual artist “Majeon”.
“It’s a link with the city!”, JF Soto
The artist thanked all the partners, including the students: “I am very proud of what we were able to co-build and of this imprint that will remain, even if you leave the high school… “We could have been content to simply call on an artist, but, by involving the Simone Veil high school and in collaboration with their applied art teacher… the initiative took on a whole new scale, underlined David Cablat, mayor of Vendémian and vice-president of the CCVH responsible for culture. An educational and collective dimension of a work whose quality should, it is to be hoped, protect it against any desire for degradation or tags… the image of the work on which it is inscribed…“by creating this fresco, you also make a link with the city. It is a very strong collective sign, it is the symbol of great brotherhood. It is more than a fresco, it is a major link!”, Jean-FranÃois Soto, president of the CCVH, was enthusiastic.
