Netflix unveils a new Korean dating show that’s even more racy than Single’s Inferno

After having marked fans of romantic reality TV with Transit Love et My Sibling’s Romanceproducer Lee Jin-joo returns with a new project that could well get people talking. Netflix revealed Love Laba dating show that promises to shake up the usual codes of the genre thanks to experiences that are as surprising as they are unexpected.

Presented as an observational experience in romantic relationships, Love Lab brings together several single people in unusual situations intended to bring out their most sincere emotions. The program seeks to explore how attraction and feelings can arise when participants are confronted with unusual circumstances.

Unlike classic dating shows, Love Lab places its participants in unusual situations intended to reveal their true emotions. Each experiment is designed to observe how connections are created and evolve when candidates are confronted with the unexpected.

Like many Korean dating shows, a panel of observers installed in the studio will follow the candidates’ interactions. Their comments will allow us to better understand the connections, the hesitations and the evolution of the relationships that are built on screen.

To support viewers, Netflix brought together MONSTA X’s Joohoney and content creator Charles Enter. While Joohoney should bring his energy and spontaneous reactions, Charles Enter will share his look as a dating show enthusiast. Their complementarity promises exchanges that are as entertaining as they are interesting.

The trailer quickly attracted attention thanks to several particularly daring experiments. One of the most striking shows participants meeting for the first time a person likely to become their partner… while they already share the same bed. A start that immediately sets the tone for this new show.

The teaser also presents another experience called “isolated romance”. In this concept, candidates are cut off from the outside world and must learn to know themselves in a restricted space, where emotions are likely to intensify more quickly than usual.

The first images reveal several scenes of flirtation and romantic tension. In particular, we hear some participants confiding : “I think I could fall in love here”, “Aren’t three seconds enough to fall in love?” HAS” or even “If I told you now, would you agree to go out with me? HAS”

The trailer also gives a glimpse of an assumed romantic competition, with several candidates openly expressing their interest in the same person.

Over the past few years, Lee Jin-joo has established herself as one of the most influential figures on dating shows in South Korea. Thanks to the success of EXchange et My Sibling’s Romanceshe knew how to seduce the public with stories centered on authentic emotions and realistic relationships.

With Love Labthe producer maintains this emotional approach while experimenting with a more daring and unpredictable format. It now remains to be seen whether these unique experiences will give birth to real love stories or totally chaotic situations when the show launches on June 17 on Netflix.
