An Iranian drone attack left at least one dead, several injured and caused significant material damage at Kuwait international airport on Wednesday June 3. Air traffic is suspended.
On the 96th day of the conflict, tensions are high in the Middle East. On Wednesday June 3, Kuwait international airport was targeted by an Iranian attack. “Enemy drones today targeted the passenger terminal (T1) of Kuwait International Airport, as part of an Iranian aggression, which resulted in significant material damage and injured several people,” the Kuwaiti army announced on the social network X (formerly Twitter) in the morning. At least one person was killed by Iranian fire, the emirate’s Foreign Ministry said.
According to the official Kuna news agency, Kuwait’s civil aviation authority suspended air traffic and flights were diverted to other airports. This same source also reported that warning sirens were sounding again in the country. On Monday, the Kuwaiti anti-aircraft defense had already intercepted drones and missiles. In a press release, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held “Iran fully responsible for these heinous attacks”.
US military says it repelled several Iranian attacks
Furthermore, the United States says it has neutralized several Iranian attacks in the Gulf. “Iran launched several ballistic missiles towards countries in the region, but all missed their target,” wrote the American military command for the Middle East on Strait of Hormuz.
