David Beckham will have his star on the famous “Walk of Fame” on Hollywood Boulevard. A ceremony will be organized on June 12, in the middle of the Football World Cup in North America.
Knighted by King Charles III last year, David Beckham is now set to receive one of the biggest honors in the world of entertainment. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced this Tuesday that the former British football star – converted into a businessman and fashion muse and now co-owner of the Inter Miami MLS franchise – would receive his star on Hollywood Boulevard.
“Beckham’s role in the rise of soccer’s popularity in the United States and his lasting influence in sports, entertainment and global culture make this tribute particularly meaningful,” ceremony producer Ana Martinez said in a statement.

The inauguration, planned in the presence of the former footballer’s wife, Victoria Beckham, and Tom Cruise – who will both speak – will take place on June 12, the day of the United States’ first match in the Football World Cup in North America.
Now aged 51, the former captain of the English selection has left his mark on the history of Manchester United. David Beckham also wore the jersey of Real Madrid and AC Milan, before playing in the United States at LA Galaxy, the Los Angeles club, then spending a year at Paris Saint-Germain before retiring from sport in 2013.
