For a day, the Couserans school complex was transformed into a real space for artistic and cultural expression. REPORT & VIDEO ðŸŽ™ï¸ Shows, workshops and open stage allowed students to share their talents in a friendly and warm atmosphere. A parenthesis in songs while the day before a dramatic event had shaken the establishment, as if to strengthen the bonds and reinforce the idea that “The show must go on”…
Like an enchanted interlude at the heart of school time, the Couserans school city lived to the rhythm of arts and culture on the occasion of a new edition of Talents Day. For a whole day, the approximately 1,200 students from the middle school and high school were able to leave their notebooks and classrooms behind to wander freely between workshops, shows and spaces for artistic expression. Pascaline Caredda (French teacher) and Guillaume Riondet (mathematics teacher) were this year’s conductors.
Music, theater, circus arts, exhibitions, creative workshops, magic and various games : the establishment was transformed into a real open-air festival where everyone could discover, participate or simply marvel. An open stage also allowed students who wanted to share their passions to go on stage to sing, dance, play or reveal their talents in front of their classmates.
More discreetly, some also exhibited drawings, paintings or texts in a space dedicated to artistic creations. Special mention to Mathis, who, for the duration of a sequence, transformed into a DJ, and brought rhythm and excitement to the teachers and students, whose cries and songs were heard well beyond the confines of the establishment.
Strengthen the bonds of a true community
Designed in the aftermath of Covid, as a moment of breathing and conviviality, this day pursues a simple objective: to make art and culture accessible to as many people as possible, by bringing it directly into the educational establishment. It is also a way of allowing all young people, whatever their background or cultural habits, to discover artistic practices that are sometimes far removed from their daily lives.
Around the many partners and stakeholders present, the educational community has mobilized to bring this collective initiative to life where students, teachers and staff come together in a different way. Even meal time has become a shared moment, with everyone freely enjoying the activities and shows offered throughout the day, and especially the shaded spaces, in this also exceptional weather.
Beyond artistic performances, this Talent Day is above all intended to be a positive day, one that does good and strengthens the bonds between teachers, students, and incidentally their parents. In a troubled time, and while the day before a tragedy struck the establishment, it reminds us how culture can create links, awaken curiosity, give rise to vocations but also bring people together. For a few hours, the establishment was transformed into a space for meetings, sharing and expression where everyone could find their place. A joyful and human interlude from which everyone already seems to be waiting for the next edition.
Part postponed, moreover, the next day, with the carnival of the students, this time, who wandered through the classes for a high school which deeply intends to remain a community on a human scale.
