On Thursday, May 28, the Troyes City Hall hosted a conference dedicated to France’s major strategic directions in terms of defense and security. This meeting was moderated by Nicolas Roche, who came to present the challenges of the National Strategic Review in an international context marked by strong uncertainties.
At the initiative of François Baroin and Valérie Bazin-Malgras, the event brought together numerous representatives of civil and military institutions: elected officials, state services, security forces, firefighters as well as reservists from the 5th Dragoon Regiment.
The discussions focused on the challenges that France must now face, whether geopolitical tensions, the risks of major crises or the need to strengthen the country’s resilience capacity. The stated objective: to better prepare the Nation for contemporary threats while consolidating the link between the territories and the forces engaged in protecting citizens.
Before this conference, François Baroin received Nicolas Roche for an interview devoted to current strategic issues and the place of communities in this national dynamic.
This meeting has a particular resonance in Troyes, sponsor city of the 5th Dragon Regiment, which has maintained a close relationship with the armed forces for several years. A proximity which illustrates the local attachment to the values of commitment, service and security.
The celebrations will continue on June 12, 13 and 14 on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the recreation of the 5th Dragoon Regiment and the five years of the symbolic partnership uniting the regiment with the City of Troyes.
