Faced with the multiplication of accusations against Patrick Bruel, the singer Zazie chose to break the silence. Invited to the microphone of Europe 1, the artist gave her support to the many complainants.

Invited by l’émission Culture Media broadcast on Europe 1 this Thursday, May 28, Zazie came to promote her brand new single entitled Never mind. In the interview, she was questioned about the situation of Patrick Bruel who is the target of several complaints for sexual assault and rape. “The great seducer, the flirt, it’s not a scoop. But obviously, given my character, you can imagine that if I had seen a third of a quarter of what is described by these women, I would talk to you about it because it wouldn’t get through”, she explained on Europe 1.

Patrick Bruel accused of sexual violence: Zazie provides support to women

Zazie believes that the abundance of similar stories can no longer be ignored by the artistic community or the general public. She thus developed her point of view in a very direct manner in front of the host: “But when there are 2, then 15, then 30 women [qui parlent]there is no smoke without fire. These are women who don’t know each other. So there must be something there. There, according to what is described, we are in crime [mais] we obviously need to investigate. I’m waiting to know the whole truth, but I believe these women. There are too many of them for it to be something to be swept under the rug.”

Patrick Bruel targeted during a theater performance

Despite the media and legal storm, Patrick Bruel continues for the moment to honor his professional commitments by relying on his right to the presumption of innocence. This Wednesday, May 27, he was on the stage of the Édouard VII Theater to play in the play Second Part. The start of the show was nevertheless the scene of an incident when three activists belonging to the feminist collective NousToutes disrupted the smooth running of the evening. Present among the spectators, the activists suddenly stood up to chant the slogan “Bruel, rapist”. To support their message, they wore masks representing the singer’s face, crossed out by this same mention. After the rapid intervention of the security service which carried out the evacuation of the three women, the actors were able to resume the play from the beginning after a few minutes of interruption.
