The second Sunday outing (la dimenjada) of the Grop de l’Euze was a great success, confirming its ability to offer a rich and varied program. Despite the competition from heritage events throughout Haut-Cévenol, a large audience participated in all the activities.

The participants particularly appreciated the reverse translation of tales by Jean-Pierre Chabrol by Patric Sauzet, as well as those of Robert Lafont by Claire Torreilles. Both were accompanied by Lucien and Gabriel, local members of the Grop, a little impressed by “the high acrobat represented by the fact of presenting two sizes of translation without a net”. Gabriel then renewed the experience alongside Jordi Peladan around the detective novel in Occitan, a genre which contributes to developing a real tourism of thrillers.

This day was also marked by a wonderful mutual recognition between specialists, often academics, and passionate local members, capable of moving them through readings in several voices. This was already illustrated at 11 a.m. with the official presentation of the booklet letter walkthe fruit of four years of collection, research, discussions and layout. This guide accompanies a cultural itinerary on foot linking Puy-en-Velay to Saint-Gilles-du-Gard.

The organizers speak of homelessness “augmentée” a meme “réenchantée”allowing you to discover numerous extracts from various authors. An initiative welcomed by Patrick Malavieille, who chaired the presentation on behalf of culture and the Gard department.

Throughout the day, music, songs and traditional dances enlivened the event. The mayor of Saint-Gilles, a true Southerner, even played the galoubet before joining the volunteers’ meal, which ended in conviviality, with an original touch: the Grop sang The settlements in Occitan. Outside, under a radiant sun, Sylvain Granier, Occitan teacher at the college, organized a memorable tambornet tournament. Men, women and children of all ages competed in good humor and enthusiasm. The drums, decorated with the Occitan cross and made in Hérault, give hope for the establishment in the Cévennes of this heritage sport of tambourine ball.
