The president of the Occitanie Region was traveling to the Les Halles market this Friday morning to meet the population and elected officials.

An early Carole Delga made the trip to the gourmet market of Mèze this Friday morning. Coming to meet residents, traders, but also mayors of the region – sometimes newly elected – the president of the Occitanie Region continues her major citizens’ tour – The Region at your side. The objective? “Show that elected officials do not stay in their offices, that they go to people to hear their feelings, have their opinion, and explain what the Region is doing,” indicated Carole Delga, a few minutes before starting her visit to the Mezois halls.

Mobilités, santé, culture…

Convinced, she recalls, “that it is among people that we find the solutions”the President of the Region takes the pulse of the territory wherever she goes. “With young people, the question is regularly that of mobility in the territory, how to benefit from preferential rates which would help them on a daily basis. Another subject is aid to businesses. Without forgetting the policy of recruiting doctors.”

So many subjects which also come back to the Thau basin, more particularly that of medical desertification. “This is the concern everywhere in France, observes Carole Delga. How to get an appointment with your doctor? How to find a visit to a specialist? This is the problem of all territories, all regions combined. Then there is mobility: having trains on time! And then, this Thau basin has a fairly strong cultural dynamic, with projects and ideas that the inhabitants share with me. I am also pleased to receive many thanks addressed to the Region, because we have maintained aid for culture.”

Another subject that sweeps the news in the basin, that of the new Montpellier-Perpignan line project. A file on which Carole Delga recalled her wish “transparency” and his desire to “to reassure” facing the “contre-vérités”.
