Horseback Riding. Simon Delestre Wins in Mexico: Equestrian News in Brief

CSI5*

Entering the competition on Thursday (finishing fifth in a 1.45m event with Olga van de Kruishoeve), Simon Delestre delivered strong results at the CSI5* of the Longines Global Champions Tour in Mexico, being placed in all the events he participated in. Riding Golden Boy DK, the Solgne rider finished second in the first GCL competition at 1.60m on Friday, and eighth in the second at 1.55m.

On Saturday, he performed flawlessly twice and finished third with Olga in a 1.50m jump-off event. Wrapping up his stay in North America on Sunday, the Moselle native clinched a third place (double clear) in the Grand Prix at 1.60m with Golden Boy DK.

CSI3*

Moselle riders managed to distinguish themselves at the CSI3* in Jumpest Nancy last week. While Jean-Charles Grandmontagne ended as the top non-placed rider in the 3* Grand Prix at 1.55m with Generation Ixe on Sunday, he also secured a fifth place in the 1.40m on Friday with Silverstar. Fameck’s Nicolas Houzelle and Glatigny’s Enzo Chiarotto also attained rankings in the 3*, alongside Peltre’s Matthieu Schmitt and Corny’s Thomas Clanget in the 1*.
