With three matchdays still to go in National 3, several teams can no longer mathematically hope to stay up and will therefore play (unless reprieved) in Regional 1 next season. Find out where each team stands in the championship groups.
A reminder about the regulations for relegation this season: there are eight groups, the bottom three teams in each will drop to Regional 1. The lowest 11th-placed team will be saved due to National 17 this year.
You can view the standings by clicking on the groups.
Group A
In Group A, no team is condemned yet, but Blagnac’s victory, the top non-relegation team, along with the results of other poorly ranked teams, has clarified the hierarchy a bit more: Albères Argelès, Cestas, and Agde now have a four-point gap to make up to reach 11th place.
Group B
Châtellerault is still in the fight after a weekend win, but bridging the eight-point gap to 11th-placed Fontenay will be tough. In between, Chauvigny (-6 from 11th place) and Angers’ second team (-7 and will not return to N3) are also in a tough spot.
Group C
This weekend, Fougères and Ergué-Gabéric secured wins. Fougères remains bottom with a six-point gap to current 11th-placed team, Stade Rennais B. Meanwhile, Ergué-Gabéric is just two points away from the “green zone”. Alençon, defeated by Vannes on Saturday, is right in the middle.
Group D
Despite a draw against Chartres, Brétigny is falling behind with a five-point gap to the first non-relegation spot and significant differences to make up for the 12th and 13th places. Only five points separate Le Havre Caucriauville, 8th, and Dives Cabourg, 13th. This means there is still a lot at stake for many teams in the relegation battle in this final sprint!
Group E
It’s already over for the Stade de Reims reserve team, but even the 6th-placed team in this group is still in danger with a five-point lead over the current first relegation spot, Pays de Cassel. The battle will be fierce in the last three matchdays with many direct clashes between the teams fighting for survival.
Group F
We will see Besançon Football in Ligue next season. Chalon FC’s defeat was the final blow, leaving them 12 points adrift of 11th place with three matchdays remaining. There are only two points separating Sochaux’s reserve team (13th) from Ivry (10th)! Even 7th-placed Torcy cannot relax as they are just six points above the first relegation spot.
Group G
Everything is still up for grabs in this group where the bottom team, Cosne, is only four points away from the first non-relegation spot. Defeated by Feurs, Chamalières now has just four points to catch up on the current 12th-placed MYF.
Group H
Two teams have been officially relegated in this group: AC Seyssinet and Carnoux. It’s getting complicated for 12th-placed ASPTT Dijon, now five points adrift of the first non-relegation spot held by Riviera.
