Chef Wolfgang Puck, who has been leading the event for 32 years, has prepared 25,000 dishes for the 98th ceremony, which will take place on Sunday, March 15th in Los Angeles.

Thirty kilos of caviar, 100 kilos of pork ribs, along with truffles, smoked salmon, and chicken, are among the ingredients needed to satisfy the Hollywood elite’s taste buds during the Oscars. The 98th ceremony will be held on March 15th and as usual, it will be followed by the “Governors Ball”, where winners celebrate with champagne while others drown their disappointment in refined cocktails.

Chef Wolfgang Puck, in charge of the event for 32 years, has prepared both classic dishes like a chicken pot pie and new options such as a grand sushi buffet. “We are preparing about 25,000 plates,” he explained to AFP during the menu presentation to the press on Tuesday, March 10th.

“You can eat Japanese, Austrian, you can always have the best steak,” he added while flambéing a succulent pork rib. Stars can also choose vegetarian options. The goal is to cater to all tastes, he assured.

Wines, champagne, sake, tequila, and thousands of bottles will be available at the event, catering to a crowd of celebrities who sometimes rely on appetite suppressant pills like Ozempic to stay fit. The stars can even take the medication along with Miyazaki beef, as the chef joked.

Event partners also plan to provide cocktails inspired by Mexican and Italian culture this year. As a dessert, the stars will enjoy traditional chocolate Oscars. A gourmet consolation prize for all the ceremony’s losers. “It’s so difficult to win an Oscar,” said chef Garry Larduinat to AFP. “So having a chocolate one to take home is very special. And it’s the only place where you can get one.”
