Three appointments, three variations, grinning, learned, comic, about lies, disinformation, the fascination of power and money.

Thursday, April 9, 8pm SHOW at the La Colonne Theater – “I would have liked to be Jeff Bezos”

Collective P4 – Text by Arthur Viadieu – Scenography by Lucie Meyer With Bob Levasseur, Chloé Chycki, Claire Olier, Mathias Minne, and Roma Blanchard

Like all his little Silicon Valley friends, Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, invests in the playgrounds of technocapitalism: space conquest, robotics, logistics, entertainment to infinity, artificial intelligence, making him someone rather dangerous.

“I would have liked to be Jeff Bezos” is a satirical comedy based on documented facts where everything is true. Playful and offbeat, this play is a theatrical nugget. Alexandrine, vaudeville, and raw testimony are served with humor and energy to provide a kaleidoscopic view of this disturbing character, his worldview, and the transformation he undergoes in our lives.

“This playful way of addressing news that should be chilling results in astonishing performances by the actors, all inspired and finely chosen.” – Le Journal du dimanche

Duration 1 hour 15 minutes – Recommended for ages 12 and up Information & reservation: https://www.scenesetcines.fr/spectacles/mark-priore-trio-initio-2/

Saturday, April 11, 11am CONFERENCE at the Miramas Media Library – “Critical Thinking”

Hosted by Denis Caroti Duration 1 hour 30 minutes – Free with registration

Critical thinking is often presented as the solution to misinformation and fake news. But what is it really? Should we doubt all information? If yes, how to avoid general skepticism? If not, how to separate fact from fiction and balance doubt and trust?

This conference aims to explore what critical thinking truly entails and, based on research in philosophy and cognitive sciences, to what extent it is possible to sift through information to form enlightened opinions.

Denis Caroti is a doctor of philosophy, trainer and researcher associated with the Gaston Granger Center of Aix Marseille University – CNRS on the theme of critical thinking.

Monday, April 13, 6:30pm CINEMA at Le Comoedia – “The Richest Woman in the World”

Film by Thierry Klifa (2025 – 2 hours 03 minutes) starring Isabelle Huppert, Laurent Lafitte, Marina Foïs, and Raphaël Personnaz

A family tragedy of power, secrets, and revenge, loosely inspired by the case of Liliane Bettencourt, billionaire heiress of L’Oréal fascinated by the photographer François-Marie Banier to whom she paid considerable sums.

“A little cruel and buffoonish theater carried by perfect interpreters.” – Télérama
