  1. Widespread freeze possible Monday night

Overnight lows will mostly drop down into the 20s for lower elevations on Monday night. Given we’re starting to get into gardening and growing season, be sure to take those steps to protect plants—but also protect people, pets, & plumbing! 2. Rain likely, t-storms possible Wednesday

Although it’ll be a mostly dry start to the week for lower elevations, the action ramps way up by Wednesday. Rain will be likely across the region, and even a few rumbles of thunder could be possible in the mountains, in the basin, & in the foothills too. Some snow could mix in the Kittitas Valley, but accumulations will likely be negligible. Our mountain passes could pick up to 6″ from 11 AM Tuesday – 5 PM Thursday, making the passes slushy but unlikely to bring widespread major impacts.

  3. 25-50 MPH gusts Thursday

With the passage of a temperature and pressure boundary on Wednesday into Thursday, wind gusts will pick up across the map. They’ll especially pick up for the Kittitas Valley where northwesterly winds will shoot down the mountain gap. Gusts could span 25-50 MPH hour across the map.
