Open to all players, from beginners to the most experienced, the tournament took place in a friendly and studious atmosphere, with seven quick games on the program. The chess boards followed one another throughout the day under the attentive gaze of enthusiasts who came to share their love of this timeless strategy game.

The presence of an International Grand Master

The event also benefited from the noted presence of Éric Prié, International Grand Master, champion of France in 1995 and several times champion of Paris. Today vice-president of the French Chess Federation, he is also a coach and trainer of coaches within the federation.

Very dynamic, the Villeréal chessboard continues its development. Since 2024, the club has offered chess lessons and games every Friday, during the school term, at the Éclats social center, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Children, adults, beginners or experienced players find a place to learn, progress and share.
The club now organizes a tournament every year under the Villeréal hall, which has become a popular meeting place for chess enthusiasts in the department and beyond.
