The Racing Club Narbonnais continues to arm itself for next season in Pro D2. The left pillar position should be reinforced by a Belgian international with 17 caps from Vannes.
This is one of the off-season projects for Racing Club Narbonnais. The left pillar position saw its four elements for the 2025-2026 season, Grégory Fichten (professional retirement), Théo Castinel, Benito Delacruz and Rémi Di Pietro (return from loan, Oyonnax). It was therefore necessary to rebuild everything for the rise to Pro D2. The Aude club has already formalized the arrival of two players in this position, the youngster from Stade Toulousain Loïc Varenne and the experienced Provence Rugby Thomas Vernet.
A third element should join them to further strengthen this left side of the first line. According to our information, Belgian international Charles-Henri Berguet (1.85 m, 115 kg) is about to sign a contract with Racing for next season. At 26 years old, this left pillar has experienced several clubs in his career. Trained first in Belgium in Dendermondse and Kituro, he joined France and the USAP (2017-2021). After four seasons in blood and gold, Berguet joined Mont-de-Marsan at the same time as his license in Perpignan. He then had his first professional matches during the 2021-2022 season, in the Challenge Cup with the Catalans and in Pro D2 under the Landes colors. After these experiences, he discovered Brittany, Vannes and became seasoned in the second division of French rugby.
17 caps with Belgium
23 match sheets in 2022-2023 for 12 starts, 27 the following season for 10 places in a starting XV and a substitute place in the semi-final and final of Pro D2, before tasting the Top 14 for seven days including one as a starter. Charles-Henri Berguet, double French Pro D2 champion with the Breton club in 2024 and 2026, is above all an experienced international with 17 selections since March 2, 2019 against Georgia. The left pillar participated in the qualifying tournament for the 2027 World Cup, unfortunate for his selection, which failed in the final, depriving it of the World Cup in Australia.
This would therefore be a third reinforcement in the Narbonnais ranks on this specific position of left pillar.
