Proskauer advised CCL Industries Inc., a manufacturer of specialty, security and packaging labels on the acquisition of Sleever International Company SA, its subsidiaries and affiliates (“Sleever”), a pioneering family business in sleeve technologies retractables, application equipment and premium decorating services for the consumer packaged goods and healthcare markets.
Based near Paris, Sleever operates 11 production sites in Canada, France, Germany, Belgium, Ireland, Poland, China and Brazil. Following the transaction, its labeling and film activities will be integrated under the CCL Label and Innovia Films brands respectively, while the activity dedicated to application equipment will retain the Sleever brand.
As part of this transition, Eric Fresnel, former main shareholder of Sleever, will continue to support the group as an advisor. Günther Birkner, President of the Food & Beverage sector of CCL Label and Innovia Films, will take responsibility for all acquired activities with immediate effect.
