Argentina maintains its rank against Honduras Argentine 2-0 Honduras

Goals: Martinez (37e SP), Simeone (54e) for the Albiceleste

No Messi, still party. The absence of Lionel Messi, left on the bench by Lionel Scaloni, did not really disrupt the harmony of the Argentine selection which took place against Honduras on the lawn of Kyle Field (2-0).

Lautaro Martínez as a pyrotechnician

Faced with the absences of Messi and Julian à lvarez, both still recovering from pain in the left Achilles tendon on one side and an ankle injury on the other, Lautaro MartÃnez put on his light outfit. Particularly proactive on the attacking front, the Inter Milan striker was rewarded by opening the score from the penalty spot, after a foul by Christopher Meléndez on Nicolas Tagliafico in his area (1-0, 37e).

Scorer in the first period, the Argentinian number 22 turned into a decisive passer in the second act. A break goal perfectly concluded by Giuliano Simeone after a masterful backheel from Martínez to create the gap (2-0, 54e). Dominant and defensively solid, Lionel Scaloni’s protégés could even have increased the score, but lacked precision in their last gesture, like Thiago Almada who saw the frame slip away while he was in the right position (50e).

Remember the summer of 2010.
