London: six people stabbed on the sidelines of Arsenal victory parade

In total, 24 people were arrested in London. Hundreds of thousands of supporters came to watch the parade of the football club, crowned champion of England.

A deluge of violence, in the wake of those which punctuated Paris on the night of Saturday to Sunday in Paris, after PSG’s coronation in the Champions League. Six people were stabbed in London on Sunday, on the sidelines of the parade of the Arsenal football club, which was celebrating its title of champion of England in the Premier League.

“Most of the victims were not seriously injured. However, a man in his 20s was taken to hospital in a critical condition after being stabbed shortly before 8.30pm on Hornsey Road. He is now in a stable condition.”said the Metropolitan Police in a press release. Commander Stuart Bell, responsible for maintaining order this weekend, deplored «des incidents liés à des gangs». “Police officers quickly intervened at the scene of each knife attack and investigations are ongoing”he certified.

In total, 24 people were arrested. In detail, ten people are suspected of having attacked police officers. One of them suffered a cut in the hand and another was hit in the head after being hit by a projectile. Three individuals are suspected of sexual assault. Two others were arrested for carrying a knife and carrying drugs, and two other people are suspected of trying to sell illicit substances.

Hundreds of thousands of fans flooded the streets around the Emirates Stadium in the British capital as Arsenal celebrated winning the English league for the first time in 22 years. More than 500 agents were deployed to monitor the event. Four buses paraded among the supporters, including one carrying the Arsenal women’s team, which won the first Champions Cup in February.

In Paris, Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez announced Monday that there had been Saturday and Sunday in France “more than 890 arrests, up more than 45%” compared to the 2025 Champions League final. In total, 225 adults were placed in police custody in the capital. Several of them have already appeared this Monday at the Paris criminal court.
