The longest event of the MaXi-Race, which launched the hostilities of a crazy weekend in Annecy, was won by Hugo Deck at the end of a breathtaking race this Saturday, May 30. Already victorious last year, the young rider from Team adidas Terrex, partner of the event, completed the 100km Tour du Lac in just under 10 hours, just ahead of Théo Détienne!
A crazy race, unbearable suspense. The Tour du Lac, the 100km event, which was launched on the night of Friday to Saturday from Annecy, offered a high-level spectacle.
On a new course, which was run in the opposite direction to previous years, the race was breathtaking and indecisive until the end with a time of less than 10 hours for the winner Hugo Deck, who scored a second consecutive success in the 100km.“It’s the best race of my life. I can’t believe what I did.”conceded the adidas TERREX team rider on the line.
A feeling confirmed by his runner-up, Théo Detienne, who gave him a big smile after the race:« T’as été monstrueux ».
Théo Détienne, Yannick Noël and Hugo Deck were announced as the big favorites and they played their role. The first to set sail was Détienne. After km 17 and the first refueling, in the long climb towards the Pointe de Talamarche, he made a first difference. At km 28, he was 1’18 ahead of Deck and Noël, then 1’49 at km 31. A gap which fell to under a minute at Doussard (Km 45). Â
Thanks to an express refueling, Hugo Deck began the second part of the race in the lead, with Noël at 47” and Détienne at 1’03. Â
If Yannick Noël kept pace, Théo Détienne made up for his delay and accelerated to take the lead at km 61 with a 3’32 lead over Deck. The latter took back the reins in the ascent towards Semnoz. “He overtook me without a glance and perhaps duly1500 m altitude difference per hourtestified Détienne. He was very strong. » From that moment on, Deck’s lead continued to increase over the kilometers. The adidas TERREX team rider crossed the line alone in 9:48:14, 8:39 ahead of Théo Détienne and 22:11 ahead of Yannick Noël.
Toni McCann sans concurrence !
Forfeited a year ago, Toni McCann was at the start of this year’s tour of the lake. The Irishwoman was announced as the big favorite and she held her place. From the first kilometers, she distanced herself from the rest of the women. A gap of a few seconds which quickly turned into minutes to exceed the time on the finish line. “I have lived in Annecy for two years now, she explained. The final in Semnoz was tough. Overall, I managed my race well. I had planned a time of 11:25 and I achieved 11:25. The plan went off without a hitch. Next year, I’ll come back and do better… Anna Llewellyn and Blandine Orsini complete the podium.Â
