In 2026, the NFL will offer nine international matches. A record. But a record that could be broken next year! According to several sources who spoke to NBC Sports, the owners should vote to add 2 matches abroad in 2027, therefore increasing the total to 11.
For this, the NFL is counting on a trick of “sleight of hand”. Because the current collective agreement limits the NFL to 10 international games per year. But an exception is provided for teams who cannot play in their usual stadium. This will be the case for the Jaguars in 2027 with the renovations of EverBank Stadium.
If the vote is confirmed, it will only be one more element in the NFL’s international strategy. It remains to be seen whether the new matches will be played in new countries or if certain cities will host two matches.
Nashville in the lead to host the 2030 Super Bowl
