The American president will give his name to the Palm Beach International Airport located not far from his residence at Mar-a-Lago in Florida.
The Federal Aviation Administration announced that Palm Beach International Airport, Florida, will be officially renamed after Donald Trump beginning July 9, adding to the list of buildings, institutions, government programs, warships and currencies that now bear the U.S. president’s name.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said the airport’s three-letter code would change from PBI to DJT, in reference to Donald Trump’s initials.
The House of Representatives and the Senate of Florida, dominated by the Republicans, had already approved a few weeks ago the bill aimed at renaming the Palm Beach International Airport to “President Donald J. Trump International Airport”.

Palm Beach Airport, a city known for its sandy beaches and sprawling, luxurious estates, is just a few miles from the president’s Mar-a-Lago residence.
The airport will join the list of buildings and infrastructure bearing Trump’s name. The board of directors of the Kennedy Center, an artistic and memorial complex honoring former President John F. Kennedy in Washington, for example, renamed it the Trump-Kennedy Center in December.
Donald Trump would also have sought to rename Penn Station in New York, as well as Dulles International Airport in Washington, according to American media. These initiatives were rejected.
