Ukraine: the war enters its 5th year
A major Ukrainian strike. kyiv deployed several dozen drones on Moscow on the night of Wednesday June 17 to Thursday June 18. “Air defense forces continue to repel large-scale attack”
indicates the mayor of the city, Sergueï Sobyanine. At least 52 drones were destroyed by local anti-aircraft defenses, he said. However, “several drones managed to reach the MNPZ”,
one of the largest oil refineries in the country – and which provides more than a third of the Russian capital’s fuel needs – warns the elected official.
At the same time, a residential building and a shopping center were hit during this attack, said the regional governor, Andreï Vorobiov. No injuries were reported. Sheremetyevo airport, one of the capital’s main airports, was placed on air alert, prompting the evacuation of passengers and staff from terminals and planes to secure shelters.

These precautionary measures were lifted around 11 a.m. local time. The activity of the complex then began to return to normal. This is not the first time that the Ukrainian army has targeted the MNPZ refinery, belonging to Gazprom Neft and located in the southeastern suburbs of Moscow. Already, on Tuesday June 16, it was targeted by drones, forcing it to suspend its activity.
