Guest of 8 p.m. on France 2, the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, was delighted with the signing of the agreement between the United States and Iran this Thursday, June 18. On the other hand, the President of the Republic considered that we could not yet say that the war “is completely over”.

A “spontaneous” signing that changed a lot of things. The President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, welcomed this Thursday, June 18, the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran at the Château de Versailles, at the end of the G7 in France.

“The agreement was concluded a few hours earlier. It was good that it did not wait and that it could be signed in these terms, so that a new moment begins,” underlined the President of the Republic on France 2.

On the other hand, Emmanuel Macron “does not believe” that we can say that the war “is completely over”, insisting that Iran must not obtain the nuclear bomb nor develop ballistic capabilities.

“It is always better to have an agreement than war, especially when there may be risks of escalation. We are entering a new phase which is that of cooperation, of dialogue, which is better than war,” he added.
