Keir Starmer further steps up his support for Volodymyr Zelensky. The United Kingdom will supply enriched uranium to Ukraine for its nuclear power plants and impose new sanctions on Russia, the British Prime Minister announced ahead of a session of the G7 summit devoted this Tuesday to the conflict in Ukraine.
Condemning Russia’s “barbaric strikes” in Ukraine, London intends to “take it up a notch” by “choking off the resources that fuel Putin’s war and providing energy to Ukraine for winters to come,” says Keir Starmer, quoted in a press release published Monday evening.
Zelensky expected at the G7
Some 210 million pounds sterling (243 million euros) of export financing will enable the British company Urenco to supply enriched uranium to the Ukrainian nuclear electricity producer EnergoAtom, Downing Street specifies in its press release. “We will stand with Ukraine for as long as necessary and this announcement reinforces that,” underlines the British Prime Minister.
