The tender, launched by the 3rd Regional Logistics Base of Poland, provides for the supply of 50 tracked bulldozers, with an option for 20 additional units. According to the Polish media specializing in defense Defense24, the successful offer was submitted by MW Rail SA The equipment will be supplied under the Develon brand of the HD Hyundai group, in collaboration with Glomak Polska, national distributor of this brand in Poland.
This success is particularly significant since it comes only two years after the introduction of the Develon range of bulldozers on the European market. This is one of the most significant European contracts relating to a unique model of compact bulldozer. It is all the more symbolic that these machines are not intended for classic construction applications, but for military engineering operations.
The Polish army’s call for tenders required compliance with strict criteria in terms of performance, durability, transport, work equipment and operational requirements. According to Defense24, the machines are expected to be used for a wide range of military engineering missions. This includes excavation work, land leveling, mass earthworks and site preparation. These bulls are equipped with blade and rear ripper, as well as towing devices and other specific accessories. The machines must also be capable of operating continuously under load for at least ten hours.
Adaptation technique
Develon won this project based on its ability to meet the requirements of Polish military engineering: modification of the chassis structure and engine displacement to increase the maximum travel speed. In addition, the machines must meet military-specific requirements, including painting in defense colors, which makes the project much more complex than a standard commercial delivery.
In the delivery forecast, Develon plans to deliver 50 units, and up to 70 units including the additional option, by November 2026. Given the specific configurations and military paint required, meeting this schedule requires close cooperation between the teams production, engineering, quality, supply chain, sales and product management.
This project therefore constitutes an excellent example of company-wide collaboration to simultaneously meet high technical requirements and an ambitious delivery schedule. This contract also comes at a time when demand for defense capabilities and military engineering equipment is increasing across Europe, due to ongoing regional security concerns.
