The Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, is officially invited to the G7 which will take place in Evian-les-Bains (Haute-Savoie), on June 15, 16 and 17, France Télévisions learned from corroborating sources, Monday June 8. A session will be organized for “work for unity behind Ukraine” and the conditions for dialogue with Russia, which invaded its Ukrainian neighbor in February 2022.
On Sunday, in London (United Kingdom), French, German and British leaders gave their support to Volodymyr Zelensky’s proposal for a “dialogue direct” between Ukraine and Russia, “with the active participation of the United States and Europe”, following a meeting with the Ukrainian president. On Thursday, Volodymyr Zelensky proposed in a letter addressed to Vladimir Putin to meet him directly. The Russian president replied that he did not see any “l’intérêt” until an agreement to end the war has been negotiated in advance.
