  • Developed by the Expert Center for Human Diving and Underwater Intervention (CEPHISMER) of the French Navy and the Toulouse company Azoth Systems, the ORCOM is the first diving computer specific to the French armed forces.
  • A true revolution in the field of diving, it reinforces the effectiveness of military dives by integrating a decompression algorithm calibrated on real physiological data and taking into account all military diving procedures.
  • Ultimately, 3000 copies will be delivered to all the diving units of the French armies. They will equip all military divers, from shipboard divers to Army engineering divers, including weapons divers and those of the National Gendarmerie.

The ORCOM project was initiated in 2022 as part of the GIMNOTE technical innovation cluster (Directorate General of Armaments, Toulon Var Technologie, French Navy). It was then developed in partnership with the Defense Innovation Agency (AID), the Fleet Support Service (SSF), the CEPHISMER of the French Navy and Azoth Systems.

A true revolution in the field of diving, ORCOM will allow all army divers to deliver a military effect underwater with greater efficiency and greater safety, by integrating decompression algorithms calibrated on physiological data real. It also initiates a considerable advance in the field of digitalization by making it possible to constitute a robust database for feedback while simplifying administrative acts. The computer also integrates all non-compliant cases of military doctrine, particularly for successive dives.

Admitted to active service at the beginning of April 2026, it was introduced for the first time within the Plongeur de bord (PLB) course during the session from April to June 2026 and is already used in operations. Future developments will soon integrate other diving modes in order to cover the entire spectrum of military diving.
