This Wednesday, June 3, Gaëtan Videau, director of the La Sauque high school, was alongside the history teacher and students to welcome officers of the 13e RDP, the cantonal president of veterans and two members of the association, invited to come and appreciate the work of the young high school students. “Appreciate” is the appropriate term, given the audiovisual montage and the panels produced and commented on by these young people.
The regiment’s journey is presented there from its creation in 1676 until today, including the Second World War and the change of name in 1952, when it became the 13e Parachute dragoon regiment. Three panels are devoted to the presentation of the different squadrons, listing the objectives of each as well as their tactical and strategic specialties.
Impressed adults
From the high school director to the invited guests, everyone underlined the excellent work of the young volunteers in the defense class, experienced as “a new adventure” for everyone and to which Vincent Leroy intends to “give more momentum next year”, because the next generation is ready: second year students volunteer to join this defense class, the diversity of which must be underlined.
