On Wednesday June 3, Ukrainian drones struck the oil terminal and military sites in Saint Petersburg (Russia). The country’s second largest city is located more than 1,100 kilometers from the front line. In images published on social networks, a soldier tries to shoot down a drone without success. “I think it’s impossible to touch him“, he said.
This attack owes nothing to chance. It took place on the opening day of the St. Petersburg Economic Forum. An annual meeting and a showcase for the country. Vladimir Putin is expected there on Friday June 5, but the first guests were welcomed after the strikes. For kyiv, the objective has been achieved. “I think we did wellsaid Volodymyr Zelensky, the Ukrainian president. They attacked us yesterday, massive bombings which left 23 people dead. We therefore responded accordingly.“
Vladimir Putin did not react to this attack. But Kremlin spokesperson Dmitri Peskov spoke of a response. Very close to the front, this time in Donbass, occupied by the Russians, a Ukrainian drone destroyed a bus. He was going to Crimea. At least seven people died and eleven others were injured.
