War in the Middle East: Donald Trump says Israel and Hezbollah promised appeasement in Lebanon

Le président américain Donald Trump a écrit, ce lundi 1^is June, 2026, on his Truth Social network that Benjamin Netanyahu had pledged, during a “very productive” telephone interview, not to send troops to Beirut, while Israel “threatened to attack the southern suburbs of the capital Lebanese.

There will be no troops in Beirut and all the troops that were on their way to Beirut have already turned back.

Hezbollah ceasefire

Donald Trump also announced that he had a  Very good ” exchange with Hezbollah via intermediaries, adding that the pro-Iranian formation would “totally cease fire.”

“Israel will not attack them and they will not attack Israel,” the American president wrote.

Israeli forces, who say wanting to “crush” Hezbollah pro-Iranian, advanced into Lebanese territory like never before in more than 25 years and called on Monday for the evacuation of the southern suburbs of Beirut, threatening to strike this bastion of the Shiite movement.

Discussions with Iran

In a separate message, still on Truth Social, Donald Trump assured that “the discussions continued At a rapid pace with the Islamic Republic of Iran…

The American president’s assertion contradicts that of the Iranian press agency Tasnim, according to which Tehran has broken off indirect dialogue with Washington, in particular because of the Israeli offensive in Lebanon.
