Co-organized by DGA Naval Techniques and the University of Toulon, in partnership with the French Navy and TVT Innovation, and with the support of the South Region, the Toulon Provence Mediterranean Metropolis (TPM) and GICAN (Groupement des Industries de Construction et Activités Navales), i-Naval has established itself as a strategic platform for the defense ecosystem. The event aims to promote collaboration, knowledge sharing and the development of partnerships essential to France’s technological sovereignty.

An immersive program between tradition and modernity

For this 2026 edition, the organizers promise an impactful and resolutely operational experience, skillfully mixing heritage and innovation. A particular nod will be made to the 400 years of the French Navy, illustrating the continuity between naval tradition and the technological challenges of the future.

The public will be able to discover around twenty cutting-edge innovations through immersive scenarios projected on giant screens, simulating exercises or military operations. Live demonstrations will also take place on the water, in the heart of Toulon harbour, offering a concrete perspective on the capabilities of new technologies. Selected manufacturers will have the opportunity to exhibit their solutions in areas as varied as naval systems, drones, cybersecurity and even artificial intelligence.

Promote innovation and unite the ecosystem

The event pursues several strategic objectives. Above all, it is about highlighting the most innovative solutions in the sector, but also about offering concrete support to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). i-Naval represents a unique opportunity for them to meet major defense contractors and form strategic partnerships.

By strengthening cooperation between public authorities, manufacturers and the academic world, i-Naval intends to accelerate the development cycle of new defense solutions. It testifies to the dynamism of the regional ecosystem and the commitment of partners to guarantee the operational superiority of naval forces.

Organizers at the heart of naval strategy

DGA Naval Techniques, the expertise and testing center of the General Directorate of Armaments, is the specialist in systems for submarines and surface vessels. It provides crucial technical expertise for the conduct of armament programs and the maintenance in operational condition of the National Navy’s equipment.

The University of Toulon, created in 1968, plays a key role in the territorial anchoring of the event. It aligns its training offering and research activities with the needs of the regional socio-economic fabric, illustrating the fertile partnership between academia and defense industries.

The French Navy, a natural partner of the event, ensures the protection of French interests on all the seas of the world. The innovations presented at i-Naval are all potential solutions to equip the buildings of tomorrow and guarantee France’s capacity for action.

Finally, TVT Innovation, the economic development agency of the TPM Metropolis, acts as a hub for innovative companies in the region. For 35 years, it has been a major player in supporting innovation in the Var.
