Territorial war leaves one dead and four injured in Grenoble

On the evening of Tuesday May 26 in Grenoble (Isère), a shooting cost the life of a man and injured four others, all aged between 24 and 33. It would be reprisals after the death of a 16-year-old teenager, found burned to death in a car in Échirolles, against a backdrop of drug trafficking.

At the front of the vehicle, a man shoots methodically. Around ten bullets against a small group and in the back, an accomplice films for social networks. In another video captured by a neighbor, an injured person calls for help. A shooting, around 9:20 p.m., Tuesday May 26, in front of the premises of a football club, near a deal point in Grenoble (Isère). The toll is heavy, one dead and four injured, victims aged between 24 and 33, all of whom have already been convicted by the courts, notably for possession of narcotics.

A death in Grenoble, in response to another, nearly four kilometers away, in a parking lot in Échirolles, this weekend. Here, the police found a burned car with a charred body inside, that of a 16-year-old young man. A teenager shot dead. Here again his execution is filmed and broadcast on social networks. Another video is circulating in which the teenager is reading a warning text with a gun pointed at his forehead.

A gang war which left ten dead in six months in the towns of Grenoble and Échirolles alone. Uninhibited violence according to the prosecutor, and probably sponsors abroad. “All these facts are clearly part of turf wars which are exacerbated. A level has been reached since today individuals no longer shoot to impress but they shoot to kill.”indicates Étienne Manteaux, prosecutor of the Republic of Grenoble.

The Lyon public prosecutor’s office is now seized of the case. For its part, the government announces an interministerial committee on drug trafficking, Friday May 29, around the Prime Minister.
