The program is directly led by two Indian Mobile Training Teams (IMTT), with a core of officers from the Indian Joint Defense Staff (HQ IDS) and experts from all three branches of the armed forces: Army, Navy and Air Force.
The training course brought together approximately 110 senior officers representing the Royal Army, Royal Navy, Royal Air Force and specialized agencies of the Omani Ministry of Defense. The coordination focused mainly on operational coordination and joint logistical preparation. This is a concrete step towards strengthening interoperability and military cooperation between the two countries, thus enabling the achievement of commitments made within the framework of the bilateral strategic partnership agreement.
This military cooperation takes place in a complex security context in the Middle East. Earlier, Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar spoke by telephone with his Omani counterpart, Hamad Al Busaidi, to examine in-depth solutions to defuse the regional crisis and to review all aspects of political and security cooperation between the two countries.
Furthermore, maritime security is a major concern for both countries following the attack on an Indian-flagged commercial vessel off the Omani coast. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs strongly condemned the actions targeting civilian transport vessels and reaffirmed the importance of ensuring freedom of navigation in the region.

New Delhi also lauded the efforts of the Omani authorities who successfully coordinated the rescue operation and ensured complete safety of the Indian crew. These coordinated and timely actions demonstrate the growing strategic confidence between the two countries in maintaining stability and shared security on the region’s vital maritime lanes.
