“The climb was not initially planned. But after a third place last year, the objective was to do as well, if not better. Over the weeks, the results evolved and with a few days to go, the situation became clearer. We were in a group of five teams at the head of the group and we faced our direct competitors from March. This decisive sequence allowed us to position ourselves ideally,” explains Jonathan Duboulet.

Jeanneaux, Jacques, Ching-Bellais, Dieme and Gonnet, always Champagnolaises

The technician adds: “The team showed solid offensive production, but it was on the defensive level that it stood out. Defense is where we perform and it’s what revived the matches when we were in difficulty. Our dynamic was based on solid foundations with players who know each other well. This allowed the group to capitalize on the benchmarks built over the last two seasons, for real continuity of the game project. We were able to adapt and find solutions when we were in difficulty.

Champagnole did the job and did it very well. The club is now turning its attention to preparing for this first exercise in Nationale 2. And it will be without its best scorer. It was announced, Jeanne Zaire ( Editor’s note: 16.95 points on average this season ) leaves the Jura to follow his studies in Alsace.

“We wish him good luck in his projects. For the moment, I have not met all the girls but Romane Jeanneaux, Cécile Jacques, Hauhere Ching-Bellais, Irma Dieme and Clémentine Gonnet are continuing with us,” explains Jonathan Duboulet.

And the coach is already setting a course for the future. “We will aim for comfortable support. We want to exist in the division and continue with the work undertaken over the past two years. We want to consolidate the group on positions 3, 4 and 5 with targeted recruits. We don’t know what our destination will be, but staying in the east center would be a good thing in terms of travel. » The resumption of training is already set for Wednesday August 12.
