Israeli army drones increased their targeted strikes on the roads of South Lebanon on Wednesday, bombing cars as far as the Chouf coast where three shots on as many vehicles left eight dead, including two children, according to information from our correspondent Mountasser Abdallah and the Ministry of Health.
In the morning, three consecutive bombings took place in the coastal region south of Beirut. The first targeted a car near Jiyé, on the busy highway linking Saida to the capital near the Jadra crossroads. The vehicle, a van loaded with food products, caught fire and a passenger was killed. The second targeted a 4X4 which was carrying four people, while the fourth targeted a car on a secondary road, at the entrance to Saadiyate.
Further south, a drone carried out a targeted raid on a utility van in Saida, near the city’s stadium, killing a father and injuring his son. A car traveling on the main road to Naqoura (caza de Tyr), next to the Relax hotel, leaves at least one injured, according to information from our correspondent. Naqoura is located under the “yellow line”, which marks the “buffer zone” that Israel de facto establishes along its border, in Lebanese territory, where it prevents all access. Two other cars were bombed by drones in Châtiyé and Maaliyé, in the district of Tyre.
According to our correspondent’s report, these serial raids left 12 dead, eight of whom, including two children, were killed on the coast south of Beirut, according to the Ministry of Health.
Nine villages in South Lebanon threatened with strikes
Air attacks also continued on the rest of the country, while the Israeli army ordered in the morning the evacuation of six entire villages in the caza of Tire, namely Maachouk, Yanouh, Bourj el-Chemali, Haloussiyé el-Faouqa, Debaal and Abbasiyé then, early in the afternoon, that of three other localities, Kfarhata (Saida), Arabsalim and Deir el-Zahrani (Nabatiyé).
After these threats, the municipality of Abbasiyé called in a press release on its residents to take refuge “immediately” in the temporary accommodation center located in the village high school and to cooperate with the authorities to “facilitate the process.” “evacuation”. Dozens of families left their homes following the Israeli evacuation order and took refuge in accommodation centers in Tire and Abbasiyé, moved to open areas far from their homes and villages or went to the Corniche of Tire or even to Saida, reports our correspondent.
Aerial attacks then targeted several of these villages, as well as other localities, without prior warning. From dawn, the Israeli army also carried out several attacks against the Nabatiyé caza.
Hezbollah, for its part, claimed responsibility for several attacks carried out in recent hours on positions of the Israeli forces occupying South Lebanon, and in particular in the Bint Jbeil caza, in Wadi Ouyoun, Srebbine and Rchaf. She also said she launched a suicide drone at a bulldozer in Khallet el-Raj, near Deir Seriane. The Israeli army announced that it had crossed the Litani towards the North, in this area.
