On the 55th day of the war in the Middle East, negotiations appear to be at a standstill between the United States and Iran. However, Donald Trump seems very calm, stating it is “possible” that discussions will resume in the coming days. At the same time, two boats were seized by Tehran on Wednesday in the Strait of Hormuz.

In the Strait of Hormuz, the Iranian mosquito fleet is preparing to board a container ship. The assault is shown on state television. On their boats, the Revolutionary Guards, armed and hooded, board the ship and seize it. A provocation ignored by Donald Trump. The American president claims that the ceasefire was not violated, as the seized ships were not flying the American flag.

“Once again, the president leaves a small margin of maneuver, because we want to see a unified response to the president’s very firm proposal. He has been very clear about his red lines.”, clarified Karoline Leavitt, spokesperson for the White House.

The U.S. administration claims that a resumption of discussions with Iran could still be possible in the coming days. However, Tehran demands the lifting of the American blockade on its ports to continue negotiations.
