Leidos Logistics and Defense (LDOS.N) has announced on Thursday that it has secured a $617 million contract with the U.S. Army for additional launchers for its Ground-Based Air Defense System, the Indirect Fire Protection Capability Increment 2 (IFPC Increment 2).

Leidos is the latest defense company to receive a Pentagon order in recent months as the U.S. government aims to increase defense material production amid global conflicts that have depleted missile and ammunition stocks.

Including this latest contract, Leidos has received orders worth nearly $1.2 billion from the U.S. Army.

The Virginia-based company stated that it has committed to delivering over 100 launchers.

This new contract will continue research, development, and testing efforts and potentially pave the way for future orders until 2029.
