Career exploration day in the field of defense and aviation
Career development can be a journey filled with obstacles but also opportunities, discoveries, and encounters. It was in this favorable setting that a day “to explore defense careers in the aviation industry” took place on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at the Polyaéro training center on the Gap-Tallard aerodrome campus in the south of Hautes-Alpes.
The three branches of the military – Army, Air Force, Navy – presented a range of professions to the students at the center, a true source of current and future promising employment opportunities with the ever-increasing global insecurity. Current events highlight conflicts leading to the rearmament of Europe, particularly France.
“We are not immune to a major event!” exclaimed General Michel Foudriat, now President of the Regional Association of Auditors of the Institute of Higher Defense Studies (IHEDN), to his audience of students. “Our purpose is to develop the spirit of defense and national security and raise awareness of international issues,” shared the former senior officer and helicopter pilot in the Air Force.
