According to court documents cited by several American media outlets, the individual in question is Mohammed Baqer Saad Dawood Al-Saadi, one of the leaders of the Hezbollah Brigades, a significant Iraqi militia.
American authorities have arrested a man accused of planning attacks in the country, Canada, and Europe, including against Jewish sites, announced Kash Patel, a director, on the X network. According to legal documents aiming for his indictment, cited by multiple American media, he is Mohammed Baqer Saad Dawood Al-Saadi, one of the leaders of the Hezbollah Brigades (Kata’ib Hezbollah), a significant pro-Iranian Iraqi militia.
According to the same sources, the man planned to target multiple locations in Los Angeles and New York and had planned at least 18 attacks in Europe and Canada. He was scheduled to appear in federal court in Manhattan on Friday, but the circumstances of his arrest and transfer to the United States are not yet known at this stage.
Designated as a “terrorist group” by Washington, the Hezbollah Brigades are part of the “Islamic resistance in Iraq,” a pro-Iranian nebula that regularly claims drone and rocket attacks on bases hosting American soldiers in Iraq and the Middle East. This group notably held an American journalist, Shelly Kittelson, for a few days between March and April last year.
