Panic – On Saturday, visitors to an American amusement park were stuck for over an hour on a roller coaster due to a sudden malfunction.
Visitors to the Six Flags New England amusement park in Massachusetts, United States, had a big scare on Saturday. According to the American magazine People, they were stuck for nearly an hour on a roller coaster due to a sudden malfunction.
A woman, who came with a friend and their two children, told NBC 10 News that the ride abruptly stopped while they were “all the way at the top.” The rain started to fall at the same time. She tried to reassure her 11-year-old daughter as best as she could. “It’s just because it’s wet, don’t worry, everything will be fine,” she told her.
Stuck at 45 degrees
According to the mother, the passengers were stuck at about 45 degrees while the rain intensified. After a long wait of nearly 45 minutes, an announcement broadcasted over the speakers informed them that they would be freed. The ride was unlocked so the car was restarted and was able to complete the course.
The soaked passengers were greeted by park officials with dry clothes, meal vouchers, and passes for their next visit. According to the management contacted by People, the ride was “thoroughly inspected” before being put back into operation. Each ride in the park is equipped with safety sensors ensuring an automatic stop in case of a problem.
