Saint-Quentin Volley beats Saint-Jean-d’Illac and solidifies third place
Saint-Quentinois took a good start in the second set (8-4) with three consecutive winning blocks. Determined and focused, the team from Aisne widened the gap (14-8). Saint-Jean-d’Illac, after making some changes, reacted well and equalized (16-16). However, towards the end of the set, SQV showed more strength and regained the advantage (25-18).
Lack of aggressiveness
Starting strong in the third set (4-0), SQV continued its dominance and increased the lead (13-4). Despite a response from the visitors (16-12), the home team managed to step up their game and win three sets to zero. This victory, achieved in style, allows Saint-Quentin to secure their third place in the standings with a five-point lead over Saint-Jean-d’Illac.
“We lacked aggressiveness in many key areas of volleyball, especially in service, block, and defense. Saint-Quentin was very strong in reception, allowing their setter to distribute the ball as he pleased. We struggled to compete. Saint-Quentin’s superiority is expected,” commented Romain Sellier, the coach from Bordeaux.
