After the big win of the Blues in the Czech Republic on Wednesday evening (37-26), during the first leg of the 2027 World Championship playoffs, Talant Dujshebaev was naturally very satisfied with the performance of his players.
First success for Talant Dujshebaev. Indeed, after two friendly matches against Spain in March (a win and a draw), the new coach of the French handball team won his first official match at the helm of the Blues. In Brno, during the first qualifying playoff for the 2027 World Championship (which will be held in Germany next January), the French team dominated the Czech Republic (37-26) and seem to have done the hardest work before the return leg in Orléans, this Sunday.
“It was my first official match with the French team. I was a little nervous but the players did a great job, they showed a lot of respect for our opponent, who fought for 60 minutes,” acknowledged the coach who recently left his position as coach of Kielce (Poland), in comments collected by the French Federation.
Dujshebaev: “We still have a lot of work to do”
“It’s a very good result to come back home with such a gap and have the possibility to qualify. We were better than in the matches against Spain, but the opponent was not easy either. The Czech Republic still has a lot of quality, but I am satisfied because we scored a lot of goals on counterattacks,” Dujshebaev also declared after the game.
“In the first half, I was not really satisfied with the defense, but in the second half, we were better in that area. (…) We still have a lot of work to do, but I am generally satisfied with what we produced this (Wednesday) evening. We were missing a lot of players, but we still have a lot of quality on the field,” explained the new coach of the Blues, who could once again wear two hats, and therefore bounce back in a German club next season.
